Executive Committee
Secretary, DA
Gail Ravnitzky Silberglied
Gail Ravnitzky Silberglied is a mom of three kids who attend MCPS schools.
Gail has been active in her childrens’ school PTAs and served as PTA President (2019-2021) at Garrett Park Elementary School. At the county level, she has advocated for reduced screen time and purposeful use of technology in the classroom, testifying twice before the school board.
During the pandemic, Gail chaired the Virtual Leaning Committee for the Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA), chaired the Technology Committee (2022-2024), and is proud to serve this school year (2025-2026) as Delegates Assembly Secretary on MCCPTA’s Executive Committee. Gail is looking forward to working with each school’s MCCPTA Delegate to maximize our advocacy on behalf of all MCPS students.
Gail has also served as an MCPS substitute teacher, a very challenging but enjoyable role.
Professionally, Gail has worked on Capitol Hill, as a lobbyist, and as a nonprofit executive before founding Speak Up Advocacy to help nonprofits maximize their effectiveness in reaching and influencing public officials. She currently is senior director of government relations and advocacy for the National Association of Workforce Boards.
